Philip Morris will produce cigars

Philip Morris Corporation has announced about a new acquisition. Even new agreement is new for production of PM, the company supposes that new gaining will help to regain and replenish the gap that comes from sales of cigarettes. As it is known, sales of cigarettes decrease due to the ban that has been introduced in almost all the USA and EU states.

Philip Morris has recently confirmed the agreement of purchasing the John Middleton, leader in the machine-made cigar market. Famous cigar brand produced by John Middleton is Black & Mild. This deal was the biggest in Altria’s 105-year history with cost $2.9 billion in cash. Amazing, yes?

Producing of cigars is a ramification that Philip Morris plans to experiment in parallel with cigarette producing.

According to published reports, cigar sphere increases its sale and export in the recent period, while of cigarettes on line decrease in the same period.

Middleton Company increases its income, mainly due to cigar producing.

Even, sales have decreased, Marlboro cigarettes remain the leader that control 41.1% of the U.S. market. Philip Morris has experienced with producing snus variations of Marlboro- Marlboro Snus and Marlboro Moist Smokeless Tobacco. Company said that they are satisfied by the results of the experiment. Maybe, this inspired Philip Morris to acquire the John Middleton and enlarge its production and variations of its tobacco goods.

So, it can be presupposed that very soon, along with Marlboro cigarettes, producing of a cigar brand with the same trademark will be launched.
