Cop accused of thieving… cigarette!Policeman of Suffolk country and two civilians were recently delayed and accused of thieving illegal imported online cigarettes that were seized by police and assigned for destruction. This declaration was present by police officials on 16 May, 2007. They offered detailed information about this incident to one of local newspaper. Main accusers are officer Michael Beam, 46, that worked in Suffolk County, police headquarters in Yaphank, since April 1987and Daniel Murphy, 52, of 328 Wellwood Dr., Shirley, a civilian employee. They both worked together in same police department, Beam as officer and Murphy as an evidence control clerk. They are accused of thieving and possession of untaxed cigarettes. All this tobacco products they take from the Suffolk police incinerator, where Beam and Murphy were arrested by police. The third accused is Marino Lodespoto, of 73 Pawnee Ave., Mastic, that was also arrested in connection with the case after a morning raid at his home. All three were captured at the Fifth Precinct pending their arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on crime charges of grand stealing, transportation of untaxed cigarettes and evading cigarette taxes. |
