Disgusting cig pack law

Cigarette pack own one of most significant role in life of cigarette. It makes it distinctive and unique. It’s an important accessory of personal style. And simply, fag packs are a piece of beauty.

As one saying affirmed “cigarette on line is a part of smoker's clothing” and fact how looks pack of favorite smoking import. That doesn’t seem to be so understood by every. Of amazing repulsive is new law that was submitted by Ministry of Health and Welfare. As it was declared, beginning with next year on cigarette pack will be placed a picture-based warnings in order to influence on societies view about tobacco smoking.

New law is planed to be revised by National Assembly and in June of next year it is expected to go into effect. There were no decided about definite picture. It’s discussed between two variants: picture-based warnings ought to show seriously damaged teeth or a damaged heart.

It’s hard do deny fact that this pictures will look “very ugly” on packs of cigarettes. It would lack esthetic and for sure will introduce real fear not about smoking of tobacco. It will look like a scary movie. And fact that it would be placed on half of tobacco pack sound more dramatic. Health warnings should cover 50 percent and must cover at least 30 percent of the fag package front and back, with optional use of pictures.

As one of ministry official said: “Cigarette packages with picture-based warnings are 60 times more effective in deterring smokers from lighting up and encouraging them to quit than word-based warnings according to a recent study. We expect this measure will help protect more people from the dangers of smoking”.

From another point of view persons that used to light up any kind of tobacco will continue to do this and namely this kind of “prevention” will affect “visual” non-smokers and children.

Rationale of introduction this kind of “cigarette usage prevention” will illustrate its results as soon as possible.Such countries as Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Uruguay and Venezuela had agreed about new tobacco law.

There are states that find a reasonable alternative at this fag pack-dilemma. Many other countries including South Korea meet FCTC size provisions, but have not required pictures.
